Notices at Our Lady of Victories Church

PaParish Office
The Parish Secretary is available Monday to Frida from 9.30 am to 1pm. Volunteers look after the office in the afternoon from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

The Young Adults Group
(18 - 35) meets every Sunday after the 6.30pm Mass. All are welcome.

Last week’s Collection:
for which we thank you, totalled £4461 (including standing orders).

Missio Members:
Red Box Members who need an empty box may pick one up from the
Repository shop at the back of Church after Saturday evening and all
Sunday Masses.

World Youth Day
will be celebrated in Madrid from 11  -  22nd August. Any young adults who are interested in representing our parish please contact Mgr Jim.

Priest Training Fund:- Thank you
We would like to thank everyone who supported the strawberry fair last Sunday—this raised £1175. This was very much a Community affair.
Also a big thank you to the family group organising the event and
especially to those who gave so much of their time as well as providing all the food and drink at their own expense.

Apostleship of the Sea retiring collection next weekend:
This weekend is Sea Sunday, when the Catholic Church remembers all those who live and work at sea.  Apostleship of the Sea is
dependent on voluntary donations to continue its work and provides pastoral and practical help to seafarers visiting our shores.

 Papal Visit (16-19th September);
Full details of the Papal visit are on www.papalvisit.org.uk.Only those who are registered will have access to the events. You can,
of course, line the streets and cheer our Pope on as he makes his way through London!

Sion Manning School:
Congratulations to Sion Manning Girls School on an impressive  Ofsted inspection.
 It showed a good school with outstanding characteristics. Well done to all the staff and pupils.

Blessed Theresa of Calcutta:
The centennial birth Anniversary of  Blessed Theresa of Calcutta will be celebrated with a Mass by Archbishop Vincent Nichols at Westminster Cathedral on 26th August 2010 at 2pm. A novena with an exhibition on the life of Mother Theresa starts at the Cathedral on 17th August.

Thanks so much for your support at the Senior Tea Party, thank you lending and giving, cake stands, beautifullysandwiches, snacks and delicious cakes etc.

The day had a great atmosphere and everyone had an enjoyable experience. You all showed such Christian kindness it was touching and it looks like the senior citizens will look forward to the next one!!

This could not have happened with out you all!!

Please do not forget the ‘Strawberries & Cream Sale’ in aid of Seminarians Fund at the end of all Masses in the front of church the yard on Sunday 4th July. Look forward to your support.

Last Sunday evening was at it's best, there was so much life, enthusiasm and joy at the Mass and the hall afterwards. It was good to be able to share something of my Silver Jubilee with the community. Many thanks to Mgr Jim for his welcome and words,and the cards and gifts. In all my years as a priest I have never ceased to be amazed at the kindness and generosity of people.

Please remember you are always welcome in Clerkenwell.
